Nov 13: Representatives from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Research Laboratory accompanied by OSU's Vice President for Research, Dr. Kenneth Sewell and others visit the acoustics lab and SSDL. Dr. Manimala provided a tour of the facilities including the anechoic-reverb chamber to the visitors.

Nov 9: SSDL hosts lab tour for prospective graduate students from regional universities during their visit to OSU-CEAT. The tour was coordinated by graduate student Samarjith Biswas with graduate students Milkyas Afework, Muhammad Ali Bablu, Paul Akinmolayan and undergrad student Alessio Lozzi participating.

Oct 22: LeeAnn McElroy, OSU alumna and Technical Fellow, Spirit AeroSystems tours SSDL and interacts with Dr. Manimala and graduate students Timmy, Milkyas and Clement.

Oct 16: Dr. Manimala and grad student Milkyas Afework attend the 2019 International Digital Image Correlation Society (iDICs) conference in Portland, OR. They presented a paper titled, "Robust Heuristics-Enabled, Vision-Based Sensing for Road Traffic Artifacts," based on SSDL's foray into heuristics-based vision technologies. Photos below.

Sep 25: SSDL participates in the planning meeting for OSU's Center for Integrated Building Systems (CIBS), an NSF IUCRC Center. Dr. Manimala made an oral presentation on 'Meta-Acoustic Claddings for HVAC Applications' and graduate student Zander Svetgoff presented a poster on it.

Sep 14: The JFI special issue on inerter-based systems [Link] which includes SSDL's article on nonlinear inertant acoustic metamaterials [Link] is now available online.

Sep 12: Martin Gerold, Enterprise Sales Executive at Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software LLC visits SSDL for a facilities tour, which was provided by grad student, Milkyas Afework.

Sep 6: The AIAAJ article (DOI: 10.2514/1.J058017) on 3D Folded-Core Acoustic Liners has been published online. [Link]

Aug 28: Dr. Manimala, Milkyas Afework and Zander Svetgoff attend Noise-Con 2019 Conference in San Diego, CA. Milkyas presented a paper on Assonance and Zander presented a paper on Acoustic Metastructures. Dr. Manimala chaired a session on Acoustic Metamaterials.

Aug 19: SSDL welcomes graduate students Oluwafemi Paul Akinmolayan, Muhammad Ali Bablu, and Samarjith Biswas! All of them bring diverse and extensive technical backgrounds relevant to our research interests.
